Our client is an engineering and technology consultancy who provides support for its clients in the fields of innovation, R&D, and IT systems in over 30 countries.
Due to ongoing expansion, they are looking for a Control System Design Tech Lead to join their aerospace team in Derby. This is a fantastic chance to join a fast-growing company with strong core values of, Excellence, Accountability, Integrity and Service.
Responsibilities:
- Analyse and translate gas turbine product requirements into a set of validated functional requirements for the control sub-systems
- Capture applicable design constraints (must meet conditions, such as safety attributes) and quality attributes (may be traded) that apply to the system.
- Design the control sub-systems to meet the functional requirements and design constraints.
- Analyse functional behaviour, which may include modelling and simulation to demonstrate that the design meets the functional requirements.
- Liaise with other disciplines to understand functional performance capabilities of hardware components of the system to facilitate effective requirements specification.
- Ensure robust designs and problem solutions through the effective application of appropriate engineering tools and applicable processes.
- Produce reports where to document the work carried out and specifications produced
Experience Required:
- Working knowledge of engine and airframe interfaces, engine component technology and behaviour during normal and abnormal operation, verification vehicles, controls sub-system design, system architecture, software and/or hardware architecture, and software and hardware development process constraints.
- A working appreciation of associated engineering disciplines.
- An ability to interpret test results and provide an informed opinion or conclusion as to the outcome of the analysis. This includes an understanding of measurement uncertainty.
- Demonstrated ability to manage tasks to completion ensuring that the relevant areas of the engineering team are appropriately consulted/informed.
- Appreciation of aerospace industry standards and working practices (ARP4754A, ARP4761 etc.
- Requirements management: DOORs, PTC Integrity
- System Modelling: Matlab/Simulink, SysML
